Description
Britains Desert Landrover
Part of the Britains Task Force this Desert Storm Land Rover is made to travel in the desert. It is painted brown to match the terrain. Although Desert Storm only lasted 43 days in 1991 there is still a presence in desert countries today. Many people still relive their experiences supporting the efforts of all the countires who were involved. With the Land Rover there is a driver and two military figures in camoflauge uniforms and blue helmets with weapons drawn. Called Blue Helmets because of their headgear UN peacekeepers often protect civilians and UN personnel. United Nations Security Council must approve of peacekeeping missions before soldiers are sent there. They also may be called to monitor a disputed border or monitor and observe peace processes in post-conflict areas. They may be used to provide security during elections or assist allied countries military personnel with training and support. We have more than 97,000 UN uniformed personnel coming from nations large and small, rich and poor. The most common sort of UN peacekeeper is the infantry soldier which we show here.
This Land Rover replica is about 4 inches long and appx 2.5 inches wide if you add the mirrors. It is almost 2.5 inches tall and the military figures are
about 2.25 inches tall on small platforms.
