Papo Polar Bear and Cub Playing
Polar bears are found throughout the Artic region and have a stocky build to protect them from the cold. When the sunlight passes through the thick fur, its heat is absorbed by the bear’s black skin and under the skin is a layer of insulating fat to keep them warm. Their long neck, relatively small head, short, rounded ears, and very short tail help them survive in these conditions. The polar bear travels over vast desolate expanses, often on drifting oceanic floes searching for seals, its favorite prey. The hairy soles and sharp claws protect and aid in moving and digging on the ice and killing prey.
A Polar Bear is spending some quality time with its Cub. Cubs are vulnerable to other animals and Male Polar Bears so the mothers are very defensive. Young remain with their mothers until they reach sexual maturity.
Our Polar Bear is appx 4.5 inches from nose to tail, about 3 inches to the top of it's head and 2 inches wide. The Cub is about 2 inches wide laying down and almost 1.5 inches to the top of its paw.
