Description
Safari Tyrannosaurus Rex and Baby
According to National Geographic Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs that ever lived. Measuring up to 13 feet (4 meters) tall at the hips (the beast's highest point since it did not stand erect) and 40 feet (12.3 m) long. T-Rex whose name means "Tyrant lizard king", is one of the most well-represented of the large theropods. They lived from 68 to 66 million years ago during the latest Cretaceous age known as the Mastrichtian and were found throughout what is now western North America.
Our T-Rex mother is about 9 inches from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail. She stands a little over 4 inches tall and her feet are appx 3 inches wide. Her offspring is a little over 3.5 inches from nose to tail and about 2.5 inches tall with feet a little over 1.5 inches wide.
