Description
Walruses are known for their long ivory tusks. They have been hunted for their tusks blubber and meat for many years creating a low population. Found mostly in the northern oceans they have sparse fur and wrinkled skin. Their pups are born a dark brown and become lighter as they mature. Born during migration they are able to swim at birth. The mothers nurse them for over a year before weaning and they sometimes stay with their moms for up to 5 years. These are nurturing moms. The mom is a little over 5.5 inches long and 3 inches tall and her fins are about 4 inches wide. Our Walrus Pup is about 3.25 inches from tail to tusk and the fins are almost 2 inches wide.
